This month has been a successful one for sport at Eyke. 12 runners took part in the Pyramid Cross Country at Hollesely Primary School, competing against runners from 10 other schools. We are very proud of Manni Watson who came first in the Year 5/6 Boys race and Anna Flowers who came eleventh in the Year 5 / 6 Girls race. The boy’s football team returned to Hollesely to play a match against the school, winning 5 –2. Mrs Scopes was exceptionally proud both of their performance but also of their behaviour and sportsmanship. The swimming team competed in the Pyramid Swimming Gala at Deben Pools, again against 10 other schools and we are delighted that, for the second year running, we came third. Thomas Ward came first in the 25m Breaststroke; Ellie Tayler came first in the 25m Backstroke; Anna Flowers came first in the 50 m Freestyle; Manni Watson came first in the 50 m Breaststroke; and Layla Dowland came first in the 50m Backstroke. In the relays, Eyke was placed first in the Super Relay which was made up of Anna, Joshua, Jasmine, Riley, Ellie, Thomas, Layla and Manni and in the Medley Relay, Layla, Anna and Manni came first, winning by a clear 25m length. 

The Secretary of State for Education has sent us a letter congratulating us on our performance.
