Collective Worship Committee

A welcome from Josh A, Year 6, a member of our Collective Worship Committee.

At school our mission is to help others. As a committee we come together and help share the stories of Jesus. (We are called the Collective Worship Committee.) We have a special corner dedicated to praying and come at break time to pray. None of this would be possible without Mrs Headley. To tell people about Jesus, we try to to do it for everyone by acting the stories out. Each assembly is used to get the word out about the term's value.

A welcome from Isabella, Year 6, a Collective Worship Committee member.

At Eyke C of E Primary School, we have a wide selection of committees from school council to playleaders and health and safety officers. But we are the Collective Worship Committee, a group where religions are taken seriously.

We have created our own reflection area. It is available at both morning and lunch break times; it can hold up to three people who can build a prayer tower and even write a prayer of their own!

A welcome from Brynley, Year 5, a Collective Worship Committee member.

At Eyke C of E Primary School we have established an amazing Collective Worship Committee. There are lots of benefits of joining this committee: you get to plan and do assemblies, help people to learn about Jesus, decorate the prayer corner and help children understand the Christian value for the term. This term we have given an important message to the school: to understand what Advent actually means because Christmas is not just about presents. This committee is definitely a very positive committee.

Collective worship committee have recently been part of opening and running a new 'reflection area' in school which gives anyone in school a space to reflect on or pray for events that are happening in their lives or in the world around them.

Term 2 Assembly - This term our value is courage. In our assembly the children told the story of the Selfish Crocodile and we discussed the courage of the little mouse and how her bravey benefitted the other animal in the jungle. We then asked our friends what they felt they may need courage to do this year.

Term 1 Assembly- We celebrated our value 'Generosity' by acting out the story of Rainbow Fish and teaching the school about the difference between a reluctant giver and a generous giver. We discussed the connections between Rainbow Fish and God's teachings in the Bible.

Harvest Festival at All Saint's Church

On Thursday 3rd October 2024 we celebrated harvest at All Saints Church. Mrs Nicholls had decorated the church beautifully and everyone enjoyed listening to Rev. Mandy and singing our Harvest Samba. The food we collected has now been taken to St. Felix in Rendlesham to the Porch Pantry. Thank you for all the donations!

Easter Service 2024

Today we celebrated Palm Sunday at All Saints and looked forward to Easter.
