School Uniform

The wearing of school uniform is expected as it helps children to have a sense of belonging to the school. The colours of our school uniform are blue and grey. We expect children to be smart for school.

School uniform consists of:

grey trousers or shorts, skirt or pinafore skirt (blue/white checked dresses can also be worn in summer.)

pale blue shirt or blouse (not polo shirt)

royal blue v neck jumper or cardigan with the school logo

                             black shoes

grey, white socks or grey tights

hair bands and clips should be in suitable school colours and no large bows should be worn. Hair longer than shoulder length should be tied up.

Jumpers and cardigans with the school logo are now available at PMG School Wear, 40 Westgate Street, Ipswich IP1 3ED or online from https://pmgschoolwear.co.uk

P.E. Kit

Children should wear their P.E. kit into school on any day when they have PE or a sports club.

The P.E. kit consists of the school jumper; black shorts, jogging bottoms or leggings; white T-shirt, white socks and trainers.

Swimming

Trunks (not shorts) or one-piece costume, swimming hat, towel, small towel

(for standing on) and beach shoes (for going to and from the pool).

It is essential that all items of clothing be named.

Jewellery

For safety reasons jewellery should not be worn in school as it can become tangled or caught.  If children have pierced ears then only studs are acceptable and these will need to be removed by the pupil for P.E. and swimming.

Make-up and nail varnish

Make-up and nail varnish (including gels and fake nails) are not permitted. At Eyke, we feel that it is important that all children feel valued and equal by staff and peers so should not feel pressured to conform to fashion trends in school.

Mobile Phones and smart watches

Mobile phones are not permitted in school because they may get lost or damaged.

Smart watches should not be worn for safeguarding reasons. An analogue or digital watch may be worn but will need to be removed for PE.
