The first day has been full of excitement and smiles. Today the children have had a fun day meeting and making new friends and becoming used to the school environment. They have enjoyed playing with toys, creating with the crafting area, and having a go on the playground equipment.

Summer 2024

In PSHE we have been learning about friendship and working together. This inlcuded looking after a puppet who felt sad and lonely because he was new to Eyke Primary!

Reception have been busy learning 3D shapes.

We had fun in team building exercises. The children worked together to move a ball on the giant parachute.

In geography, the children have been learning about castles. The children made a caslte in their construction area and out of cardboard. They discussed what the key features of a castle are and the purpose of them.

Spring

Reception enjoyed listening to 'One Man Went to Mow a Meadow' and building their cube towers to match the number shown.

Ash class have loved their music lessons with Mrs Wakeman!

In RE we have been exploring the idea of welcoming being a Mitzvah! We went to the front door of our school and pointed to signs of being 'welcome'.

Ash class have been very engaged in our English lessons this half term! Our current book is 'The Odd Egg'. In this lesson we needed to freeze frame in the position of the characters from the story. We then had act out how that character might be feeling and what they might say. After the idea was modelled, we all had a go!

Today we talked about what makes us the same and what makes us different. We then used Jenie our class jigsaw to pass around the circle to talk about ourselves.
