Our Committees
One of the important aspects of education at Eyke is advancing the children's Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development and one way we do this is through the children's committee work. Through our committees we work to engage and empower pupils as agents of change at school and in our community so that they understand they can be part of making a difference in the world. As the children move through the school we hope that they can start to understand the root causes of poverty and injustice, as well as fundamental British values.
We currently have 7 committees at school: School Council, Restorative Justice Committee, Play Leaders, Collective Worship Team, Health and Safety Committee, Wellbeing Committee and Eco Committee and all pupils from Year 1 upwards belong to one of them.
Each term the children have presented assemblies. Past topics have included Fire Safety, pioneers in shaping Black history, the Christian value of Generosity and Mental Health and all the committees have written action plans for the year.
