Family Help in Suffolk
Family Help in Suffolk
Support for families, when you need it.
Every family faces challenges at times. Whether you need advice about your child's wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, additional needs or family life, support is available.
You do not have to wait until things become difficult to ask for help.
What is Family Help?
Suffolk County Council's Family Help offer aims to bring the right people together to support children and their families at an earlier stage. Support is shaped around each family's circumstances, strengths and needs.
Under the new approach, families can benefit from one assessment, one coordinated family plan and a dedicated practitioner to help bring support together where appropriate.
What support is available?
- Parenting and family relationships
Advice and support with parenting challenges, family relationships, routines and understanding your child's needs.
- Emotional wellbeing and behaviour
Help with worries, emotional regulation, behaviour and challenges affecting family life.
- SEND and additional needs
Advice and signposting for families of children with special educational needs and disabilities, including links to Suffolk's Local Offer.
- School attendance and engagement
Support to explore barriers to attending school and identify practical ways to help children access education.
- Community and local support
Family Hubs offer information, advice, activities, workshops and connections to services for children, young people, parents and carers.
How can I access support?
Talk to someone. You can speak to your child's school, GP, health visitor or a local Family Hub about the challenges you are experiencing.
Explore the support available. Suffolk's Early Help Assessment (EHA) can help families and professionals understand needs and agree what support may be helpful.
Make a plan together. Depending on your circumstances, support may be provided by existing services or additional help may be arranged through Suffolk County Council.
We're here to help
At Eyke C of E Primary School, we recognise that family circumstances can affect children's wellbeing, confidence and learning. If you would like to talk through a concern or explore what support may be available, please contact the school office and ask to speak to a member of our pastoral or safeguarding team.
Asking for help is a positive step, and we will work with you to explore the most appropriate support for your family.
