    Thu 25 Sep 2025

A huge congratulations and an enormous thank you to the ACES mums and supporters who competed in the Aldeburgh Relay Triathlon last weekend.

They completed a 750m sea swim, followed by a 22k cycle, then a 5k run. Both teams completed the course in 1hour 35mins and 1hour 36mins respectively and so far they have raised £1030!!!

We are incredibly proud of these strong women and very grateful that the fundraising has been done to support Eyke pupils.

If you would still like to donate please visit their GoFundMe page.

  • LSA appreciation day

Thu 25 Sep 2025 Miss Sheehan

This week is LSA appreciation week. This morning the children showed their appreciation to our wonderful LSAs. We are incredibly lucky to have such a supportive bunch!

  • Sierra Leone Link School

Tue 23 Sep 2025 Mrs Headley

A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of welcoming a lady called Amanda into school from 'Education West Africa' which is a charity that links up schools in the UK with schools in Sierra Leone. Education West Africa website

We have just initiated contact with our link school, SLC Primary School Sahn Negbema, in the Bo district of Sierra Leone. The school has 216 children with 6 teachers, 2 of which are paid and 4 of which are volunteers from the community. They are all in one building as seen in the picture below and the building is divided into 4 classrooms.

Amanda shared a variety of information and pictures of Sierra Leone. She even read her diary from when she visited the school in 2011.

Information about Sahn and the Bo District:

In the community the main source of income or livelihood is from farming of mixed crop, vegetables, eggs, potatoes, cassava and groundnut. They move around the district mainly on foot, bicycle, motor bike commonly known as “Okada” and small cars. But vehicles are not too common. They go weekly to collect local food stuff at Sahn and its surroundings to Bo.

The people of Sahn believe the existence of two religions; Christianity and Islam. They
observe local religious festivals that brings the community together, often involving rituals,
prayers and share of traditional foods. They observe the key Muslim and Christian holidays.

Overall, Sahn is a friendly community and they love strangers, there is religious tolerance and no tribal sentiment but the serious challenge about Sahn is the road and mobile communication network.

SLC Sahn Negbema is part of the Anglican Diocese in Bo and is part of the 'Church of the Province of West Africa' which is where we have similarities. Over the next few years the children will be able to spend time looking at the similarities and differences between our school in Eyke and their school in Sahn. We are hoping that by building this relationship the children will have a better understanding of other children around the world.\

All the children loved the morning spent with Amanda and they are now much more aware of what life is like in Sierra Leone. We look forward to growing our relationship with the school!

  • Visit from Jenny Riddell Carpenter MP

    Fri 12 Sep 2025

We were delighted to welcome Suffolk Costal MP, Jenny Riddell Carpenter, to school today. Jenny spent time with Miss Fairweather learning about our brilliant school and discussing some of the challenges facing rural primary schools in particular. She then visited all the classes. She was very impressed with the children's understanding of our parliamentary system and all the classes enjoyed hearing about Big Ben. It was lovely that the children listened so politely to Jenny, asked great questions and showed real interest.
