Music Success in Lockdown!
Mon 15 Jun 2020During lock down our Eyke CoE Primary string players have been very busy practicing hard and continuing with some fantastic progress via their Zoom Lessons.
Eliza Forgiel has done us especially proud by being selected for the Benedetti Music Foundation virtual orchestra. 7000 string players from across 33 countries applied for the sessions which were spread over 3 weeks and included intensive virtual lessons and rehearsals with amazing musicians from across the UK. After lots of hard work and practice, Eliza’s video was selected for the final cut. This meant that Eliza was part of the Virtual Orchestra which performed at the Grand Finale Concert , which premiered on 31 May. This is a fantastic achievement and we are immensely proud of Eliza.
The final performance was not only of an exceptionally high standard but was also a very moving and inspiring experience for performance and audience alike, so please do take a moment to watch it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wI3jm4z4AZs&t=2380s. (Eliza’s piece starts at 30 min 17 min so fast forward and see if you can spot her!)
