Love of Reading
At Eyke C of E Primary we love reading. It isn't just an important life skill - it's also a way to relax, a way to escape to other worlds, have a cosy time with someone at home and learn new things.
Author visit-November 2025-Cat Weldon
The children in KS1 and KS2 had a great time listening to Cat Weldon explaining all about her new graphic novels. They are both fiction books based on famous historical events with mice as the main characters.
Here are some comments from the children:
"I enjoyed making pictures of the animals that might have stolen the artefacts"
"I enjoyed watching the stolen thief on the screen"
"I enjoyed colouring in and making the pictures that she inspired us with."
"I enjoyed reading the book with Cat and talking to her about her dress full of books that inspired her writing."
